Course Description: Are you aware of the potential confined spaces in your work environment? This comprehensive confined space program will give participants the knowledge required to identify, enter and work in a confined space safely. Upon completion, participants will be able to identify confined spaces as well as the hazards associated with such. This is a WorkplaceNL approved course.

Course Duration: 2 Days (in person)

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the importance of CSE training
  • Identify legislative roles & responsibilities of workplace parties
  • CSE legislation
  • Identify roles and responsibilities of employers who develop CSE programs
  • Identify roles and responsibilities of person who are working in CSE
  • The safety and health hazards of CSE
  • The recognition, evaluation, and control of confined space hazards through the application of hazard assessments
  • Hazardous atmospheres and testing procedures
  • Control methods for hazardous atmospheres, and/or safety and health hazards
  • CSE work permit system
  • Selection, use, care, storage, and maintenance of PPE and respiratory protection
  • The general requirements of a CSE rescue plan
  • Accident/incident reporting; and the basics of accident/incident (A/I) investigations
